The road that leads home

I promised a reader of this blog that some day I would take pictures of my driveway. And after one of our snowfalls this week, I decided to do just that. I didn’t have my big camera with me, so these were all taken with my Samsung Galaxy S4. I love a good phone camera.

This was taken upon pulling into the driveway and going forward about 30 feet. There is a house through the small stand of trees on the left (which is for sale).

I went about 50 yards and took another shot.

Another 50 yards. My, oh my – how I love this beautiful scene.

And another. You can begin to see the opening of the woods into a paddock on the left.

In the old days, when the former owners lived here, their daughter kept horses. They were in a big paddock on the right. Most of the fence line has deteriorated but the gate stands open.

And you can begin to see the house in the distance.

Directly to my left is another house that you can see through the trees. I call them the dirt bike people. I don’t even want to talk about them.

It is always such a good feeling coming up this driveway. Hope you enjoyed the view with me today.

Until tomorrow, then . . .

Catching up on your last several posts...both of which are beautiful! What a lovely driveway you have and my daughter loves the picture of George at the Gate, she has it hanging in her home! You are making me slightly wistful for snow...we have the frigid temps, just no clouds, but I think I'm ok with that, I'll just live vicariously!

That is beautiful! I see why you'd have it plowed; shoveling that alone would be more than impossible. It's like your own private road, really. Almost like a fairy land...

Hi, This is such a beautiful winter scene. The property is amazing. And of course your photos are lovely. That cameraphone is outstanding. I'm thinking of trading in my iPhone. We should be getting some snow here in Massachusetts Saturday night. Have a good weekend.

I am in need of upgrading my cell phone and I'm trying to decide whether or not to get another iphone or to try the Samsung Galaxy You seem very happy with it!

Oh Kate, I never find one particular photo I love the best, yours are all magnificient. It is so peaceful in those two days of posts. We are out of our cold snap now of a week, and balmy mid 50's today. So nice not to have to wear a jacket anymore. I am thinking of you, and hoping your Christmas will be a peaceful one. Give George a hug too. Kay In Oregon

Reminds me of the scene in my minds' eye when I read Robert Frost's Stopping in a Wood on a Snowy Evening. Complete peace and tranquility.
