Camera phone weekend pix

It was beautiful this weekend. Chilly, but quite sunny – and if you sat in the just the right spot – it was wonderful. I think I got some sun on my cheeks.

Here are a few photos I took using my Android phone.

The view from my seat in the backyard. Taken with the camera that came with the phone, then opened with Be Funky, one of the free processing apps I downloaded. I used the Orton effect on this one and called it a day.

A beautiful day.

Looking to my left, into the sun and sitting in the same spot in the yard. I used my Retro Camera for this one. I think.

It was such a sunny day, I poured myself a cocktail. This is my favorite drink: Yukon Jack and fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice.

Don’t be all judgy now.

This liqueur is a taste born of hoary nights, when lonely men struggled to keep their fires lit and cabins warm. I didn’t write that – it’s on the bottle and I wrote about it {here}.

Retro Camera again. George brought his squeaky toy outside – the one that makes the loudest squeak and he’s waiting for me to make another toss.

This is him after a half hour of squeaky toy shenanigans.

And this is my new love. I saved it for last.

Yes. I broke down and bought a Miele. I’ve been wanting one for years. Thank you for all your vacuum suggestions from a previous post I wrote. I went to a shop in Wilmington on Saturday morning and they let me test drive several of them. This was more than I wanted to spend, but it was a floor model, so I got a discount. Plus I upgraded the power brush and got a bigger discount on that. It has six different suction modes from low (for draperies) to mid (for Oriental carpets) to high (I love high). And the power brush head has five different levels.

I’ve vacuumed the entire house. Twice. No, I’m kidding. I only did it once. But it was a pleasure to do my housekeeping this weekend – much to my utter delight.

Have a wonderful week, my friends ~

Nice vac! I would like to test drive one too, not sure anyone in our area has them though.... Tired of the ones Hubby chooses for us.. I let him choose because I totally dislike vacs and I've never found one I like.

I am always amazed by those internet articles that claim the "worst gifts to give" include vacuum cleaners. I know when I bought my awesome vacuum, I did exactly as you did - vacuumed the house twice, if not three times. I wanted to find more to vacuum...
Enjoy your new housekeeping tool!

Congrats on the new vacuum. I've never been tempted to vacuum the house once much less twice, but of course, I do now and then. Nice punch of shots!

I needed a vacuum recently but Miele did not cross my mind. In fact, I don't believe I've ever seen that brand around here. It sounds fantastic. Saw that drink and now I'm thinking of summer, sitting on the porch in a rocker and tasting some leamonade with vodka :)

It was a gorgeous day here as well. Loving the sunshine, but we really could use some rain.

Congratulations on that new vacuum! Good that you also were able to have a discount on your purchase.
It was a beautiful day here, too.

I just vacuumed with my Miele thanks to a dusty job my husband did in the house, and I know EXACTLY how you feel. It's like getting a hot little sports car.... ;-)

Hope your weekend was delightful.

cocktail looks yummy.... the only judging I am doing is judging you for not sharing :) of course that would require an awfully long raod trip since we live 1/2 country away from each other; so I guess you are forgiven; but if you are in the mood for a road trip and really wanting to get the most out of your vacuum, then I'll provide the cocktails!
thanks for sharing as always!

Anything that makes house cleaning easier is worth the cost to me.

Hey there girl, nice little ferrari you got there..oops I mean Miele ;-) The color confused me ;-))) I immediately thought ferrari ;-)))

What kind of android phone do you have? I´m considering getting one- a Samsung Galaxy S2 model..we got one (not a phone but like an IPOD) with our new TV and it´s so fun to play on...I´m hooked on wordfeud, do you play that?? Loved the photos your phone took- you must have what 8 megapixels? And you downloaded a program to edit your phone camera photos? COOL- you´re so high tech!!!! hahahaha....

Have a great evening my dear! :-)

I would like to buy a really nice vacuum cleaner one day. Enjoy yours.

I bought a Miele 10 years ago and I love it - the best thing about it is that in 10 years I have never - as in not once - had to have it repaired for anything. ALso it is an amazing ally against pet fur!

Yeah "our vacuum just took a big hugh bang and out with a blast of very dusty air" my honey-man said. He wants a dyson. I've never heard of this one, but will have to let him no what to surf for and compare. Feels good to have such a well vacuumed house I agree.
I added a new post about your beautiful winter female Cardinal WaterColour I'm working on. thanks again.
peace n abundance,

I upgraded the power head. Mine has five levels and will do a shut off if it's too close to the carpet. But it works great. Our bedroom carpet (and you know that carpet, Adrienne) has never been cleaner. Awesome.

And I didn't know you had the Titan ~
