The day after

For the record, yesterday’s Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous. There were a lot of people there this year. A lot.

Our youngest son played the piano and his new guitar and it was the best thing I’ve heard in a while.

My green bean casserole was a huge hit. The flavors were wonderful, if I must say so. And I must. I also made my traditional apple/pumpkin pie and this year, tried a new dessert as well. I made a chocolate chip pecan pie and it was . . . oh, my stars, was it ever good. I used Ghirardelli’s 60% cacao bittersweet pieces. Pecan pie isn’t usually my cup of tea, but the addition of chocolate takes it to a whole new level.

It’s raining this morning and I think it’s a perfect day to see a movie. With family in NJ. I think I’ll head back over soon.

And maybe I’ll have some of that pie for lunch . . .

If you’ve gotten this far, I noticed this morning that I’ve reached 700 followers and that means it’s time for another Giveaway. I’ll host one later this weekend, so stay tuned.

Until later, my friends . . .

Enjoy your loved ones. Because that’s what it’s all about.

Well, it finally got 'cold' down here in Texas...beautiful day here...very cool and blue skies.
I don't dare go shopping on Black Friday...don't need anything that badly. Wouldn't mind watching a great movie but DH is planted in the tv room in his recliner and watching none other than endless football games!

I checked out PW's green bean casserole. I was wondering all the time reading it if asparagus would be a good sub for the green beans??? I love warmed asparagus. Do they grow wild in your part of the world? While in Indiana several years ago, I tasted some wild ones...fresh picked along the side of some railroad tracks and cooked...omg! they were good!

Enjoy your days off with your hubby and whoever else is blessed to be with you and George!

Hugs, Jeanne

We had rain during the night last night but a breeze early morning had dried it. The sidewalks were almost dry at 6 am. BUT, it' been a cold day and we have a few cold nights ahead of us.... sunny days, cold nights.

Your pie sounds wonderful. I made green bean casserole too, but it tasted bland. Do you add anything special to yours to boost the taste buds reaction?

Apple/pumpkin pie... never heard of the two together, now you've peaked my curiousity.

We're going to see Harry Potter with family tomorrow... I know, I know... but I do love the series.
