When I grow up

It’s been a quiet evening here in Maryland. We had a hellacious rain storm last night and today the wind was wicked. Another tree came down in the yard but it’s good this time. It was an old dead one in the horse paddock and my husband will probably begin cutting it up and carting it away soon.

I thought about what I was going to share with you today and after several starts and revisions on two different posts, I realized I had absolutely nothing to say. Nuttin’, honey.

And so, my dears, I will share with you a commercial that I absolutely love. This ad for Kaiser Permanente promotes pro-active, preventive measures for staying healthy. I love the music chosen for this and after viewing it, tell me you don’t love that cheerleader!

Hope your day is a good one and that your troubles are few. It’s all I ask for myself today.

Until tomorrow, then?

Oh, and PS ~ Ever so much more than twenty (from yesterday’s post) is from Peter Pan. Congrats to my friend Daryl for being the first to give us the answer.

I love that commercial too Kate, though I've never seen it before. Those women are inspiring! It also makes me think I NEED to schedule a mammogram!!!!

You know what other commercial I LOVE???? This one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G7bGBUlx2M It reminds me so much of Lily. Of course it has nothing to do with women though but maybe George enjoys it ; )

I just have one question...

Why were the two ladies with the fringie dresses dancing in the woods???

...on second thought, maybe that's where I would be too if I put on one of those dresses and started dancing... believe me no one would want to see it!!!

Thanks....that was fun to watch...catchy little tune!!

until later...V

Great, catchy ad. And yes, I love the cheerleader too. And it reminds me that I'm overdue for my squishogram.

How come I've never seen the cheerleader? I've seen a version of that commercial many times and love it, but it must have been a shortened version. Thanks so much for the link so I could see the whole thing. Maybe if I sing the song I'll develop the attitude.... Like they say, aging is a fact of life; getting "old" is optional!

Love that ad, every time it comes on I stop what I am doing and watch it again. Thanks, Kate. I hope we all grow up to be old women and men. Never stop on the mammograms ladies, my grandmother was 70 before she developed breast cancer. It is an all age disease. Jeanne

Can't run the video so I'll just talk about the wicked weather which we had here too. Mathews schools got out at 11:00 due to flooding. Pretty soon, we'll be changing our county's name to Atlantis.

Yes, I love that cheerleader! I do want to be an old woman--I guess--But I'm NOT liking looking like one!

Hope you'll hop over and watch the video "C" posted! It's about dogs and you'll love it! V.

What a great commercial, they are inspiring women.

Was that Allison Krause singing? Sure sounds like her.

You seem to have better ads over there than we do here - ours are abysmal.

I have had this song playing in my head since you showed it to us this weekend ... in fact, as soon as I read the post's title I was humming along.

A very good way to remind your readers to go get squished and then you'll have a better chance of growing into an old woman!

My VW: unfohogi .. that's old foggy in Swedish ;-)

What old woman? I didn't see any old woman. :) LOVED the YouTube!

I seem to be there day by day. Tho I think no matter how old I get, "old woman" will remain a future goal, rather than a present circumstance. The definitiion keeps changing in my mind :)
